I am a technologist and entrepreneur from Hannover – with a passion for cloud technology, astronomy, and data-driven projects. After more than 35 years in the IT business, I still thrive on the thrill of the new: understanding new technologies, experimenting with them, and turning them into tangible solutions.

This website is my personal project hub – a place where I document what I build, test, and learn. Openly, transparently, and with practical results.

Professional Journey

The Early Days

At the age of 18, while still in school, I got my first freelance business license and wrote software for Bosch in Hildesheim. During my studies in Business Economics at Leibniz University Hannover (1987–1994), I co-founded Herrlich & Ramuschkat GmbH in 1990 together with Markus Herrlich – a company focused on ERP software for large-scale kitchens and catering. For over 30 years, we served customers across the DACH region with our solutions MBS5 and cloudMenu – from corporate cafeterias and contract caterers to senior care facilities and hospitals. At the end of 2022, the company was acquired by Matilda FoodTech AB as part of a strategic move to expand their platform for a sustainable foodservice industry in Europe.

From Web Development to the Cloud

In 1999, I created the business unit iRacer within the company for web application development. Working with technologies like ColdFusion, Adobe Flash Media Server, and later Java and HTML5 laid the foundation for what was to come.

In 2006, tecRacer was spun off from Herrlich & Ramuschkat GmbH as an independent company – focused on AWS Cloud Services. What started as an early bet on the cloud became a success story:

In early 2025, tecRacer entered a strategic partnership with IT Capital Partners. In 2026, I handed over the Managing Director role to Rachel Linnemann and continue as Founder & Principal Technology Advisor at tecRacer – doing what I do best: working at the intersection of technology and innovation.

What Drives Me

A permanent openness to new things. I am an entrepreneur with a strong passion for technology – with over 35 years of hands-on experience in IT. This combination helps me not only build technical solutions but also understand their business value. I love exploring new technologies with passion and enjoy diving deep into new scientific or technical topics.

Beyond that, I have been a member of the Lions Club Hannover-Wietzeaue for over 15 years – because community and social engagement matter to me just as much as technological innovation. More recently, I have also been getting involved with the Public Observatory Hannover, sharing the passion for astronomy and science with others.
